Qualcomm is one of the biggest chipset manufactures in the world. The name is most well known in the handheld device industry. This is the first time an event like this organized by a chipset manufacture, co-operated with the famous technology error hunt HackerOne. The value of the prize can go up to $15,000 USD for each error depends on how critical it is.

This competition is applied for all the Qualcomm chipset series from the old Snapdragon 400 on Android Wears to latest Snapdragon 821 and Snapdragon X. The chipset manufacture also is funding for other Android error-hunt competitions on MSM Linus, root, bootloader, firmware, and errors happening in Qualcomm system. In order to take the prize, coders and participants have to keep secret about the errors until Qualcomm announces them.

The deputy technology chairman of Qualcomm Technologies, Alex Grantman, shared "We are always proud of our network and relationship with the security community. After years, the researchers have been helping us improve the security of our products by sending directly the errors and bugs. Although most of the security development are came from internal sources, a public competition will help us with bigger bugs and errors".
